    Help!
Hey, does anyone know a good pianist that might be able to accompany an audition that I have at Theatre Latte Da this Saturday?
I know it is late notice, but, I had no idea that anyone actually had you supply a piano player...and, well...evidently, they do.

    Let me know.

    Thanks!

    3 very important announcements!
Announcement number 1: I want to go to karaoke at Market BBQ tonight...Wednesday April 19. Anyone interested?

Announcement number 2: Only 25 days left until I run the Breast Cancer Race for the Cure! Yahoo! If you're still interested in donating to this awesome cause, check out my page at www.active.com/donate/komentc/colleen . I have already raised $1,196!!!! Amazing! To reach my goal, each of my myspace friends would only have to donate $6.87. So, think about it. Boobies across the country would thank you! (By the way, I am the 5th best individual fundraiser in the Twin Cities...woah. Thanks to everyone that has already donated!)

Last announcement: I am officially dying my hair red on May 13th. Why am I dying my hair red? It is for my amazing show that runs May 19, 20 and 21 at 7pm, with a matinee, also, at 2pm on that Sunday. What show, you ask? Why, it is David's Redhaired Death. Wait. What's that you say? You've heard that this show is gonna rock everyone's face off? Well, that's exciting, isn't it? Pardon? You'd like to order tickets RIGHT NOW because the theatre (the Acadia) is small and will most likely sell out? Well, ok. Here's the phone number: 612-227-1188. Woah. This is exciting!

    Ok, I think that's all.

    Some facts:

*Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women ages 40-59 in the US.

*It is the leading cancer site among American women and is second only to lung cancer in cancer deaths.

*All women are at risk- one's risk encreases with age.

*Lifetime risk (by age 85) of developing breast cancer is 1 in 7.

*In 2006, 211,240 US women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 40,410 will die. (approx. 3,200 Minnesota women)

Please consider donating generously, and if you know any one that might like to help out, direct them to this web site.

    I got the part!
Yes, that's right, I will be playing Marilyn in "David's Redhaired Death" with the 20% Theatre Company!

    AHHHHH! I am so excited!

After I found out, I spent all night with Leif and Danielle eating dinner and watching t.v. and every 20 minutes or so I would burst out with a scream because I would remember that I got the part! I mean, I know I'm being a little child-like because people get parts every day, but, I am just really proud of myself and so excited to begin working with this wonderful director and Kate, the girl playing opposite me. I'm also really excited to dye my hair red, wear negligee on stage, and make out with Kate in front of an audience..... :) It seems like an important, beautiful, sad and abstract show, so, I know you'll like it.

The show is May 19, 20, 21 at 7pm at the Acadia performance space near uptown on Nicollet and Franklin. There was some talk of possibly going a second weekend, but I'm sure it depends on funds and availability and things like that. So, yeah! You should come! Yes, you.

I really want the show to get a lot of good publicity and be a profitable experience for Claire, my director, because she recently moved here, and it seems that she is starting this company on her own....so, tell your friends and have them tell their friends, and so on. Plus, I'm friggin sweet, so, that alone should motivate you to come. Take that.

Yay me! I'm a real actress that gets paid and shit. Hot damn!

    Somerville out.

    Things to be happy about.
Recently, I've noticed, there has been an overall feeling of "blah" going around the blogs of those that I care about. This could be a result of time of year...I fell like everyone hates waiting for it to really be spring. This could also be a result of school years coming closer and closer to an end. Or, it could just simply be a result of every person that I know being in shitty moods at the exact same time. Whatever the case may be, I had considered starting a list of happy things when I woke up this morning in an exceptionally good mood, and then, after reading the following article in the City Pages, I have decided that fate is asking me to renew the happiness in all of my readers. So, the following is an exerpt from an article entitled "Black Bunny Habit", and after that, I'm going to list just a few of the many things that make me happy....just to remind everyone about nice things.

"Stenciled black bunnies have been popping up around Minneapolis for a little more than a year now. Last spring, we spotted their one-dimensional spray-painted bodies on public trash cans along Cedar Avenue and on electrical boxes on Washington. The rabbits are always in mid-leap, and the stenciled images seem to disappear as quickly as they came, as if overflowing trash cans can't contain these little bunnies on the run." The article goes on to explain that there are now fliers with the bunnies on them, but no one really knows who they're from or what they're for. Seriously. I love this city.

Here are some other things that I love.

Babies, cauliflower, singing, kissing, laughing, surprises, sunshine, karaoke, baths, teddy bears, daisies, soup (especially tomato basil at the French Meadow), breakfast....well, really, eating in general, my parents, sleeping, oboes, warm rain, being sore from working out, sushi, sledding, red wine, getting mail that isn't a bill or an advertisement, holding hands, the Wizard of Oz, fun purses or shoes, weddings, thinking about being a little kid, curly hair, the dollar store, Dolly Parton, sharpies, staying up all night talking, bunnies, birthdays, crazy people and snickers ice cream bars.

Those are just a few. I challenge everyone that reads this, the next time they blog or post something on my page, to write a short list of things that are good. Maybe I'll compile the lists and publish a book called "Random stuff that is awesome" one day. Or, maybe I will just be proud that everyone I love had the chance to remind themselvs of good things.

    That's all.

    Somerville out.

    I'm a big girl!
I feel all grown up today. I spent the whole day doing things to better myself. I made an appointment at a gym downtown that my friend Rich told me about...The Regency Fitness Center. I will most likely join tomorrow because a membership is only $50/month and I get $20 off because I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance. So, $30/ month! Woot!

Then, I found it necessary to buy an iPod since I'm joining a gym. Well, I have found it necessary to buy an iPod for, like, 3 years, and just now became motivated and crazy enough to go through with it. However, get this; although I had to open up a credit account at Apple to buy it, I will have it paid off by the end of this month! Grown up! I also got a car adapter and a pink armband for working out. Plus, last but not least, I had them engrave "Stargirl." with the free engraving. Sweet!

Finally, I signed up for a commercial audition Friday, Feb. 24. I also got the names and addresses of about 10 talent agencies, and plan to go home and start putting some packages together. One of them already called me back because I filled out an interest form online, and I have an audition with them next Wednesday for commercial work.

    YAHOO! So much accomplished!

I think I'll go home and look up some music for my auditions this weekend, and then relax. Phew! (I hope it doesn't sound like I'm bragging...it just isn't that often that I feel accomplished. thank you. :)

Yeah, this pretty much sums it up.

    LJ Interests meme results

    1. acting:
Being on stage keeps me alive.
    2. bunnies:
Bunnies are, well, basically the best invention ever. Anyone that knows me knows my obsession. I mean, seriously, they have furry, floppy ears (which can be used as a helicopter in rare but extreme circumstances), fuzzy tails, and that nose. They also happen to love me more than any other human being, so, that's good for me. Except when they jump in front of my car for a chance to see me. That's no good for anyone. bunnies bunnies bunnies....
    3. dancing:
I am a mediocre dancer with a "Movin Out" dancer's spirit. I love it so much.
    4. green tea:
      Mmmmmm, green tea. Delish
    5. holding hands:
      It is my favorite part.
    6. jumprope:
Yes, it is true, I was on a professional jump rope team for 12 years. We were the best team in the country, and I was on the team, but also coached and choreographed all of our best stuff. I was pretty sweet, and the team was amazing. Come to my apartment and I'll show you a video if you are laughing and don't believe me.
    7. poetry:
I don't really write poetry, but I love people that are deep enough to not feel foolish to be deep. I also hate when people pretend like they're deep, and aren't. Therefore, only a few people I know pull off poetry, and when they do, I love it.
    8. singing:
Do, Mi, Mi, Mi, Sol, Sol, Re, Fa, Fa, La, Ti, Ti.
      A. Who knows what this is from?
      B. Who knows my biggest pet peeve from the song, "Sing" in Chorus
      Line?
      C. Who knows the note that I sing in my head in order to be able
to find any other note? I'll give you a hint, it is the first
note in my audition cut of "I can do better than that" (from
      what show?)
      D. Who still wants to be my friend after all of this?
    9. sleeping:
If it were socially acceptable, I would probably sleep 18 hours out of every day.

    I am so strange.
I would like to share some things that I do every day that make me chuckle when I think about them, and also prove that I was correctly diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive tendencies.
    1. I MUST have my car keys out in my hand before leaving anywhere.
    2. Before getting out of my car and locking it, I drop my keys in my purse, and then open my purse again and must touch the keys before shutting the door.
    3. I have to take the mail down every day at three thirty, and every day, at least one of these three things occur (usually more than one):
    a. I pull the door to the elevators that says push.
    b. I get in the elevator, let the doors close, and then stand there for 45 seconds before realizing that I haven't pushed the button for the first floor.
    c. I fingerspell the word Kierans (a restaurant that I pass in the skyway) from the time I drop off the mail until the time I'm in the elevator again and forgetting to push the button.
    4. I eat 2 of the 5 things from my lunch at exactly 11:00 (always the fruit and the starch), and then the veggie and the sandwich at exactly 12:15, and finally the yogurt at 12:45. Now, these aren't diet specific specs, I just have chosen to do it that way, and now it won't change.
    5. I hate that when I go home at night, the lotion pump on my desk gets that crusty piece of lotion on the end that clogs it up. So, every morning, I come in and pump it as hard as I can to shoot the clump out of the end, and end up wasting a good 4 or 5 pumps to complete this process. If it won't come out, I will take it to the hot water pump and soak it unill it is soft, and then repeat the process.

Okay, that's all for now. There are more, but I don't want to freak anyone out. I mean, I know it's all probably normal and everyday stuff, but I was just thinking about it, and it seemed strange to me.
    Peace out.

    First day of work nightmare...
So, imagine this...you're sitting in your car, in a lane for cars to sit, waiting for your boss to come and let you in your private parking garage for your first day of work, minding your own business. Okay, so, you glance in your rear view mirror, and notice a bus passing you on your left. No big deal. You then look again, and before you know it, you are being slammed into the curb on your right by the rear end of that bus, and also being pushed forward into the rear end of the car in front of you. Within seconds, the whole thing is over, and you have to call your new boss, and tell her that you're going to be late...

Yeah...so, there it is. That's what happened Tuesday morning. My poor Cammy is completely smashed in the left rear bumper, the driver's side door doesn't open, the rear view mirror is hanging by the cords, and all of the paint is scrached or falling off. Besides hitting my head on the window, I am fine, which is a miracle. Another miracle is that the guy in front of me, that I ended up hitting, is not only an ex-cop, but is now a secret service agent, and is basically handling the entire case for me.

So, um...yep. That's my first day at a big-kid job story. Maybe I should have stuck to serving crabs to trashy people. Who knows?

The tale of the hot mouse...
I heard this story from a drunk woman at Joe's today, and wanted to share it. (she said she heard it on CNN)

So, this guy (we'll call him Frank) thinks that there is a mouse in his home, and decides that what he will do is put some of that sticky mouse paper in an empty check box (like, the little box that checks come in. I only verify because I didn't really catch what she was talking about the first time.), and wait for the tiny mouse to get stuck so that he may be properly disposed of. So then Frank catches the mouse, and takes the box outside. (this is where it gets good) Frank then puts some dried leaves in the box, and sets them, and subsequently the mouse, on fire. He then strolls back to his home, proud of his accomplishments in mouse-removal.

Well, the mouse thought to himself, "Fuck, I'm on fire. Well, in a final kami-kaze style stunt, I will run back into the house while flames are shooting off of my tiny, soon hairless body, and burrow myself into a wall where there is plenty of insulation." So, the mouse, in an attempt to go out with style, did exactly that, and within minutes, the house was in flames. So, because of Frank's genius plan, he lost his home and, most likely, any ounce of dignity he may have had. The best part is, PETA is now after him for the cruel actions he took against our little mouse friend. Amazing! Serves him right!

Thus ends this story. I may have added names and visual descriptions for effect, but, according to the drunk lady from Joe's, this really did happen.

    Happy Baby Jesus Day!
So, I am in a surprisingly good mood. Wanna know why? Because I was able to extend my visit home from leaving on Wed. the 28th to leaving on Sat. the 31st. That means that more fun will be able to be had, including more time to see friends and family.
On a side note, I have a sickness right now that makes my eyes feel like they're on fire. Anybody have any ideas as to what that could be? My nose is runny, and my head hurts, but the main symptom is the fire eyes. Strange..
    Okay, bye.

    I need some prayers.
Okay guys. If you pray or meditate or send good vibes, I need them. I have an interview tomorrow morning for an administrative assistant position in Minnetonka (a suburb near minnie twinnie). The reason I'm freaking out about it is because it starts out at like $18 per hour. I'm not bragging, I am actually astounded that that amount of money is possible to earn. I don't actually know what I would do with it. Probably buy a country or island or something. Or, probably, realistically, a car. WOOT!!! So, send me some good vibes, and Danielle as well, as she is up for the same job, tomorrow morning around 8 or 9 Minnesota time. Here's hopin....
P.S. Looking for a good book to read? Try 'A Million Little Pieces' by James Frey. I'm not even done with it yet, but I highly reccommend it. I know I already plugged this book once, but, it's just really good. Thanks

    A waste of life...
...is what I feel like today. I literally was in bed all day long either reading, watching T.V., or "napping" (though I don't think I actually ever fell asleep for real). However, every dream I sort of had included drugs or alcohol or something like that because I am in the middle of "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey, and it is all about his 6 weeks in rehab. Good book, but, don't try to sleep while reading it because it is extremely graphic and makes you feel like when you watch Requiem for a Dream.
Anywho, I really wanted to post because I got cast in a show!!!!! I will be playing the role of Mayella in To Kill a Mockingbird. It is not paid, but I am also the music director for the show, and that might be. I was so surprised to hear back from the director that I forgot to ask. I am also waiting to hear from the job interview that I had on Friday, so, we'll see if I can finally stop worrying about stupid money or not.
Okay, that's all. I need out of this phase really badly. I felt like a real person for a few hours last night, and then fell back into my crappyness when I got home, and it carried over into today. What am I missing in my life? I don't know.
